Giving Back to Wounded Knee Foundation

November 28, 2011

Due to generous donors, Giving Back To Wounded Knee Foundation has been able to send eight Echo 18″ Blade Chain Saws for winter wood cutting to both the Pine Ridge and Rosebud Reservations. These new saws have been entrusted to those who have promised to cut and supply wood not only for themselves but for friends and neighbors, disabled, elders, war veterans, and other families in need of wood for winter warmth in various districts.

One Echo Chain Saw was sent to Pastor Cecelia Spotted Bear, of  the Lakota Memorial Church of the Nazarene in Wounded Knee, where the 2011 Give Away was held.  Two more were sent to the Pine Ridge under the conservateurship of Wounded Knee District President, Phyllis Hollow Horn. The remaining five were sent to the Rosebud for the woodcutting teams.

Our deepest thanks go out to those kind and KEY contributors who have answered our prayers to help keep as many folks warm this winter by using the saws to go out and bring in the wood for so many in need.
