MSU GENEROSITY WITH GBTWK FOUNDATION, INC.

I am very happy to let you know that Michigan State University Developments, a quarterly magazine which is sent to all students, professors, and alumni, will be featuring an interview with yours truly with emphasis on our foundation, Giving Back To Wounded Knee Foundation, Inc.  In an interview with Lois Furry, Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications and Editor of  Michigan State University Developments, we discussed how the generosity of Michigan State University, my alma mater, has played a major role in supporting and giving aid to our foundation in the recent years. And this is just the beginning!

On April 30, 2012 in East Lansing, Michigan at the Kellogg Conference Center and Hotel, a meeting will take place with the students who volunteered their Spring Break time to the Rosebud Lakota Reservation. Present will be the editor of Michigan State University Developments, the Director of Academic Services and Civic Engagement, the Supervisor of the reservation team, and Mr. Mark Terman, Director of Principal Gifts for Michigan State University. We plan to discuss further ways to better serve the citizens of the Pine Ridge Oglala and Rosebud Lakota Sioux.

More to come later!!

MSU SPRING BREAK SERVICE ON ROSEBUD RESERVATION

Michigan State University students are serving on the Rosebud Lakota Reservation in Mission, South Dakota through the Tree of Life Ministry in Mission, South Dakota. MSU Alternative Spartan Spring Break (ASB) students have served before on the Rosebud along with the Rosebud citizenry for a number of years.

This trip is also a recipient of one of the ARBY’s mini-grants and will be implementing a food pantry and a garden project in addition to the efforts in which they have traditionally have engaged through Tree of Life. Students stay on the reservation obtained through Tree of Life.
